Upcoming PD–East Bay Events and Actions

This edition of our newsletter highlights three events and actions that are coming up in the next couple of weeks.

WE NEED YOUR HELP! Please volunteer some of your time as we near this important mid-term election.

1. Partner With Defenders of Wildlife to Defeat Pombo
Canvassing, Sat September 16

On Saturday, September 16, we are partnering with Defenders of Wildlife for their Defeat Pombo Day of Action rally, canvass, and picnic social.

We plan to walk precincts in CD-11 with the Defenders to ask voters to support Pombo's Democrat challenger Jerry McNerney. Jerry will restore honesty, ethics, and accountability in Washington and champion good environmental policies while working to enhance the lives of working and middle class families.

Progressive Democrats of the East Bay has been a longtime supporter of McNerney and we welcome the opportunity to partner with Defenders of Wildlife.

Here are some details of the event:

  • You should expect to canvass door-to-door for 3 to 4 hours

  • Lunch will be provided

  • Transportation can and will be provided.

  • There will be a picnic social at the end of the day



We encourage you to take part in this event! If you want to carpool with the Progressive Democrats of the East Bay, contact Jody at (510) 636-4149. We'd love to include you with our group.

However, you can also RSVP directly with Defenders of Wildlife. Here are the details:

Coach Bus pick-ups & drop-offs and carpool will be made available in Berkeley, Oakland, San Francisco, Morgan Hill, and San Jose. BART shuttle service to and from the Pleasanton meeting location will also be provided.

2. McNerney for Congress Phone Bank Wednesdays in Oakland

PARKING: The building is somewhat non-descript, but there will be a McNerney for Congress sign in front. To park in the back, drive down the driveway alongside the building between the office and the school; to enter, use the back door -- the phone bank is just inside the door in the Elinor Glenn conference room. If you get lost, please call 510-499-4862.
