Lifting the Fog (Sat, Nov 11)
The Scientific Method Applied to the World Trade Center Disaster
Progressive Democrats of the East Bay enthusiastically endorses the up-coming conference, Lifting the Fog, which will be held on the UC Berkeley campus on Saturday November 11, 2006. Lifting the Fog is an academic conference examining the destruction of the World Trade Center skyscrapers and subsequent contamination of lower Manhattan.
The events of September 11, 2001 have had a significant impact on the course of our nation. 9/11 has become the predicate of virtually every action taken by our government in its aftermath. Yet we as a nation understand little about the event itself.
The theory that now dominates the mainstream is that nineteen young foreign-born men commandeered four airplanes, flew them across the country without detection and crashed them into two high-rises and the Pentagon. The "official story" from the 9/11 Commission has serious flaws (See David Ray Griffin's "The 9/11 Commission Report: Omissions And Distortions" – Lecture, Video).
Controversy continues to swirl about this momentous event that underpins our entire current domestic and foreign policy. Any thoughtful analysis of the facts from the scientific community is a step toward putting that controversy to rest.
