Progressive Democrats - East Bay Announcement of Elections To Be Held May 6
Progressive Democrats of the East Bay has been operating with interim officers since its inception. This newsletter announces elections for officers at the May 6 General Meeting of Progressive Democrats of the East Bay.
Progressive Democrats of the East Bay is a chapter of the national organization, Progressive Democrats of America (PDA). PDA has established the following offices for chapters:
Co-chair (Female)
- With input from the Steering Committee and members, sets the agenda for the Steering Committee and General Membership meetings
- Responsible for chairing the Steering Committee and the General Membership meeting
- Shares responsibilities equally with the other co-chair
Co-chair (Male)
- With input from the Steering Committee and members, sets the agenda for the Steering Committee and General Membership meetings
- Responsible for chairing the Steering Committee and the General Membership meeting
- Shares responsibilities equally with the other co-chair
Secretary
- Responsible for recording minutes for both the Steering Committee and General meetings
- Distributes minutes to the membership in a timely fashion
- Responsible for all official correspondence
Treasurer
- Maintains a bank account for PD - East Bay
- Collects funds as required, including membership dues
- Distributes funds as required
- Prepares monthly financial reports
- Collects and maintains all required fiscal information
- Files all required forms, including tax forms, on time with State and Federal governments

All candidates will have the opportunity to give a 2 minute speech at the May 6 General Meeting prior to the election.
If you want to be a candidate, please contact the Nominating Chair by April 19.
If you want to be a candidate but cannot attend the May 6 meeting, submit a statement in writing to the Nominating Chair, who will read your statement at the meeting.
If you cannot attend the meeting, but want to vote for a candidate, contact the Nominating Chair, who can arrange a proxy vote.
